Description
When you've lived a while to understand that nothing is black or white, there are always shades................................Spider Mums Getting their name from their appearance, they have long, tube-like petals that sit freely and loosely like spider legs atop stems. This hardy mum is a species of the chrysanthemum genus and is widely known around the world. The chrysanthemum originated in China, and spider mums were thought to have originated there as well. They are a member of the Asteraceae family and are a perennial plant.

Rosita, this caught my eye a few days ago on your Twitter feed and I sent myself the link to it so I could try and give it justice! I think this is one of my favorites of yours (though that keeps changing each time you release new work, lol - smiles). There's a completeness and a sweetness in the balance of very soft gradated light on the clearly outlined white petals that appeals immensely to me. Then the faint lemon tint deep inside the B&W rendition, plus the second mum's echo and rising light in the background complete the feel so tightly, it's hard to imagine it being any better! I also think the very brave clipping of the two petals' tips is a masterful cropping touch. Wonderful work, Rosita!
